Family Medicine Physician- Madison Heights Location

The Board Certified Family Medicine Physician works as part of the clinical provider team performing a variety of direct patient services including assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, implementation of treatment plans, and monitoring of follow-up for clinic patients. Physicians may assist in supervision of PA’s or NP’s Successful candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, completed an approved residency program in his/her medical specialty, be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Virginia and have the ability to relate effectively with patients and staff. Dentist- Multiple Locations

The Dentist provides leadership in all areas relating to the dental services at Johnson Health Center’s (JHC) new dental location in Lynchburg. Responsible for recommending and implementing dental policies and procedures; providing dental services and education to the patients of JHC; ensuring continuous quality improvement in dental services; representing JHC  at organizations concerned with dentistry services to the underserved; and act as an integral part of the clinical and administrative management team of the health center. Graduation from an accredited dental school. Minimum of five years clinical experience preferred. NHSC student loan repayment eligible site.  Knowledge of community health principles and practices preferred. Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Atherholt Location

Dental Assistant- Atherholt Location

The Dental Assistant will assist the Dental Director and Dental Hygienist in the caring and treatment of patients, filing patient charts, updating patient records, and performing administrative duties including identified project coordination. Behavioral Health Therapist (LCSW/LPC) - Lynchburg Location (Federal St)

The behavioral health therapist provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, development and implementation of behavioral health treatment plan for JHC patients as referred by JHC medical providers. The behavioral health therapist provides counseling, crisis intervention, various case management services and referral services and works with JHC medical providers to ensure care management of the patient. Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, with LCSW or LPC, and at least two years of behavioral health related experience required. Obstetrical/Gynecological Physician

The Obstetrical/Gynecological physician works as part of the obstetrical team performing a variety of direct obstetrical patient services including assessment, diagnosis, implementation of treatment, evaluation, and monitoring of the obstetrical patient management plan, as well as, delivery and postpartum care.  The obstetrician performs these functions under the general supervision of the Director of Obstetrical services and /or the Medical Director in a primary health care setting. Medical Clerical Assistant

The Medical Clerical Assistant (MCA) is part of the Patient Care Team and assists the Medical Provider in the provision of team based medical care. The MCA provides limited direct patient care services and assists the provider in the completion of his/her non-medical duties.  Under the director supervision of the Director of Nursing, the MCA plays a critical role in the delivery of quality, patient-centered medical care within the context of a federally (HRSA) qualified community health center (FQHC). The primary role of the MCA is to manage those clerical responsibilities, currently carried out by the provider, and which impinge on the provider’s ability to spend.an appropriate length of time, engaging the patient while developing sound diagnoses and treatment plans. The MCA is also that critical member of the Care Team that will be expected to carry out “high touch” activities to reach those patients who are not responsive to traditional outreach methods.  The MCA is required to be either Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant, 1-2 years of Medical Assisting experience preferred. Computer User Support Specialist

Patient Engagement Specialist

The Patient Engagement Specialist serves as a vital link between Johnson Health Center and the local community. The PES works in collaboration with the Director of Patient Engagement and Outreach to provide education and assistance for JHC patients as well as the general community regarding Johnson Health Center services. The PES is responsible for educating the community and helping to build and retain JHC patient capacity. The PES is an integral part of JHC’s patient-centered health care home by addressing patient need for adequate, affordable health insurance as well as engaging patient in their health care. The PES will provide enrollment assistance for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. Bachelor’s Degree in social work, health promotion or related field preferred, Associates Degree with 1 year of experience required. Licensed Practical Nurse (PEDS)- Atherholt Location

Individual will function in conjunction with a medical provider, to assist in the provision of professional medical care and nursing support clinical duties in a clinical setting. The nursing staff plays a critical role in the delivery of quality medical care. The LPN is required to have graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical nursing program and be licensed with the Virginia State Board of Nursing with a current LPN license. The MA is required to have completed the requirements from an accredited institution. 1-3 years’ experience in a OBGYN clinical setting is preferred.
